Montpelier PTA Annual General Meeting
20th September 2018 @ 19:30 - 21:00
Every new and existing parent and guardian of Montpelier pupils are automatically members of the school’s PTA (Parent Teacher Association).
We are the fund raising arm for the school and in current times of ongoing budget cuts the extra funds raised by the PTA make a real difference in both supporting and enhancing your child’s education. The PTA is a registered charity with the Charity Commission, and in some circumstances donations qualify for Gift-Aid with HMRC.
We hold several fund-raising events throughout the year which are thoroughly enjoyed by parents and children alike but we need your support to make them even better! Our school’s PTA is run entirely by parent volunteers many of whom work full time. Whether you become a member of the committee or help organise one of the fundraisers I believe every parent and carer has a special skill that you can bring. It is a great way to meet other parents and your children will also feel encouraged to see mum and dad taking an active role in their education.
We usually meet once a term, our first meeting this academic year is THIS THURSDAY,
20th September 2018, Thursday, 7.30pm in the Lower Hall
This will be the AGM (annual general meeting). As well as being your opportunity to vote/stand for the committee member roles we have a very special vote to agree to update our PTA constitution to make it more modern. Your attendance at the meeting this Thursday is crucial as we need a minimum of 35 member votes to agree to this change.
If you are a new parent at the school you will be able to get an idea of what the PTA does and how all the monies raised is spent across all the year groups at Montpelier. You can find out about up coming events too so bring your diaries to save the dates 🙂
Please come along if you are interested in joining the committee or helping at the events so you can be the change that you wish to see!
